CM Punk put out a teaser that has people talking.
For years, wrestling fans and wrestlers themselves have called for the in-ring return of three-time WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee. According to recent reports, that will soon become a reality as Lee is planned to compete in a mixed tag match alongside her husband and former WWE Champion, CM Punk, at WWE Wrestlepalooza on September 20.
CM Punk himself has seemingly played into the news on his Instagram Stories by reposting a cartoon devil holding a sizzling red staff while it says, “Okay…you asked for it!” Since coming back to WWE in late 2023, “The Second City Saint” has expressed interest in Lee doing the same, though he has also remained respectful of her decision not to up until this point.
Lee and Punk will reportedly be taking on Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, another real life couple, at WrestlePalooza. At WWE Clash In Paris, Lynch nailed Punk with a low blow, allowing Rollins to then stomp Punk into the mat to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Punk and Lynch later met face-to-face on WWE Raw, with the latter taunting and slapping around the former. It was then that Punk warned Lynch that she’d regret her actions, leading fans to draw the conclusion of Lee’s imminent return.
Lee last competed in March 2015, when she, Paige, and Naomi defeated Natalya and The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie Bella) on Raw. The day before, she and Paige bested The Bella Twins in a tag team at WrestleMania 31.
