Jim Ross On Edge/Christian Potentially Reuniting In AEW: It’s Not A Bad Idea

Jim Ross thinks Edge & Christian reuniting in AEW isn’t a bad way to go.

The pair were one of the best tag teams in the world during the Attitude Era. Edge & Christian won numerous tag team titles and competed in all of the original tag team ladder matches that made stars of themselves, the Hardys and the Dudleys.

There was an attempt to reconcile in AEW. After Adam Copeland debuted in the company, he offered Christian Cage the chance to team with him. They hugged before he was wholly rejected, with the former TNT Champion telling him to “go f*** yourself”.

It seems unlikely they would be able to put their differences aside now, but you never know.

Jim Ross spoke with Conrad Thompson on Grilling JR and was asked about a potential Edge & Christian reunion in AEW.

The WWE Hall of Famer said there’s a chance, adding that he’d be for it due to the pair’s natural chemistry as a tag team. Jim Ross added that it would be ideal at this stage of both men’s careers.

“There’s always a chance, and I would be for it because I know their natural chemistry is amazing. I’ve seen them at their best, and at this stage of their career, tagging is not a bad idea—it’s not a bad idea. If you wanted to spark some spark and sizzle in your tag team division, that ain’t a bad way to start.”

Jim Ross Believes His Contract Expires August 2025, Expects To Be Re-Signed By AEW

Jim Ross hopes to continue in AEW beyond his contract expiry next year after successful cancer surgery.

The WWE Hall of Famer spoke about his current contract situation on the Grilling JR Podcast. He revealed that once he has recovered from hip surgery, then he is fit enough to continue his AEW schedule for years to come.

“I think my contract expires in August.” Jim Ross said. “I don’t have any sense or feeling that I’m not going to be kept because of the schedule I do. I could maintain that for years to come, and I’m not saying that in a braggadocious fashion. This is what I do. This is what I was born to do.”

“As long as my heart is beating and I’m still healthy—and right now, quite frankly, I’m healthier than I’ve ever been. Once this wound heals and it’s getting closer and closer, I’ll be 100%.”

“I’m waiting for my hip to heal. After hip surgery… I’m not so sure I’d do that again, even though it was broken into pieces. I don’t know what’s worse—the healing process or breaking it initially. But I think I would have thought it through a little better or gotten a better orthopedic surgeon. I should not be in this much pain this long after the hip replacement.” Jim Ross said.
