Kevin Kelly is taking somebody to court, for reasons vaguely alluded to in cryptic Twitter posts.
The former NJPW and AEW commentator was reportedly fired from his role in March. It was after less than a year in the job. His time in the company was not the most well received, although AEW have not commented on why he was let go.
He previously accused Ring of Honor announcer Ian Riccaboni of committing libel by harming his career in a Twitter post. This was just days before he was let go from AEW. He returned to the platform last month to reveal that has hired two lawyers, and will be seeing an unnamed individual in court.
After a user accused the “AEW cult” of turning on him, Kevin Kelly instead levied an attack on Ian Riccaboni. He corrected the using, saying that Riccaboni did something to him.
He claimed it would “come out in court soon”, while remaining tight-lipped on what “it” might be.
“That’s what Ian Riccaboni did to me. Can’t wait for it all to come out in court soon.”
Another user asked him when this was happening, to which Kevin Kelly replied “soon”. He then revealed he had hired two lawyers for the proceedings. He ended by tagging Jim Cornette in the post, for unknown reasons.
“As soon as my lawyer gets going. Two of them, actually. Lawyers. I never had a lawyer before, let alone two.”
Kevin Kelly has not specified who he is taking for court, or why. We can assume it is over his AEW sacking, and that Ian Riccaboni is involved. However, none of that has been confirmed.
AEW boss Tony Khan refused to comment when asked about the situation in March.
