Kyle O’Reilly is intrigued by the possibility of working with a fellow Canadian in All Elite Wrestling.
The March 20 episode of AEW Dynamite featured a main event title match between Adam Copeland and TNT Champion Christian Cage. Outside of the championship implications, this contest was also particularly significant given that it emanated from Cage and Copeland’s hometown area of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Coming off this Canadian vs. Canadian clash, the British Columbia-born Kyle O’Reilly is interested in continuing the theme by working with Copeland in singles or tag team action.
“[To team with or wrestle Copeland] would be really special and cool,” O’Reilly told Casual Conversations with The Classic. “That’s beyond my wheelhouse, making the matches though. I just show up and work as hard as I can in those 10 to 20 minutes in the ropes. That’s all I can control.”
Shortly after his return to AEW programming, O’Reilly received an opportunity to challenge Roderick Strong for the AEW International Championship at AEW Dynasty. Meanwhile, newly-crowned TNT Champion Adam Copeland teamed with Eddie Kingston and Mark Briscoe to take on The House of Black’s Brody King, Buddy Matthews and Malakai Black. Unfortunately for O’Reilly and Copeland, both of their Dynasty outings ended in a loss.
