The Rock dreamt of becoming a country music star, and that dream may become reality.
The People’s Champion’s current WWE run came to an end at WrestleMania 40, and he is moving back into the world of Hollywood. However, he is also trying his hand at the country music scene.
He recently shared behind-the-scenes footage of him filming Chris Janson’s latest music video. The Rock helped film the music video for “Whatcha See If What You Get”, and now could perform on stage with the star.
The Rock shared a story on Twitter about wanting to be a country musician at the age of 15. He revealed that he tried to perform at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge in Nashville, but was thrown out for being underage. However, he has been invited back to Tootsies to perform for the first time. Scott Shore of the bar invited him to come back to the lounge to perform alongside Janson.
In the video, Scott Shore said:
“Hey Dwayne. It’s your family here at Tootsies. Sorry you didn’t get to perform last time you came down. Next time you come down, the stage is all yours, and we’d love to have you here at Tootsies!”
The Rock Responded To The Invite Via Twitter
The video of the invite clearly moved The Rock, who posted this caption along with the clip:
“Me and @janson_chris always talk about betting on yourself. We gotta bet on ourselves and take that big swing. — you might fail and get turned down, but at least you have it a real shot and tried. I was 15yrs old, broke as hell and living in a motel room in Nashville. Had the bright idea that I was gonna become a country music star.
“Went down to the world famous Tootsies, where all my country heroes first got their starting gigs. I was kicked out because I was 15 (but looked like I was 57 ) I was super disappointed, and moved on to the next, but for the rest of my life, I never stopped trying. This Tootsies surprise video shown to me from my buddy @kevinfrazier blew me away. What a crazy blessing how sometimes life can come full circle Love ya back, Tootsies Orchid Lounge – I’ll see ya on stage.. and I’m sure I’ll be a little drunk”
