Tony Khan says it’s an honor to have “The CEO” join AEW.
At AEW Dynamite Big Business, Mercedes Moné, formerly known as Sasha Banks, made her official AEW debut as she signed with the company.
Speaking with NBC10 Boston, Tony Khan commented on Mercedes Moné’s debut.
“It was great to have the hometown hero return to television. What a debut it was, and we’re very excited,” Tony Khan said. “Tomorrow night on TBS, Mercedes Moné, for the first time in Toronto. It’s great to have Mercedes here in AEW. It’s an honor to have Mercedes here in AEW. What a way to debut a new star at AEW Big Business.”

Tony Khan was then asked why Moné was so important to the brand and what she could bring regarding new audiences. He stated that she was perfect to be the face of the company.
“Mercedes is one of the greatest wrestlers in the world,” Tony Khan said. “She’s gonna help bring in new audiences from all over the world. I think not only is she gonna come in as one of the faces of AEW, one of the top stars, but she’s also one of the best wrestlers, one of the most charismatic people, somebody who loves wrestling.
“To me, Mercedes not only is somebody who loves the wrestling business, loves getting in the ring and wrestling, but loves the fans. I think that’s what we’re all about in AEW. I think that’s why Mercedes is perfect to be the face of AEW.”
Mercedes Moné is set to appear on the March 20 episode of AEW Dynamite. WrestleZone will have coverage of the show as it airs.
