Ever since parting ways with WWE, EC3 has been trying to re-invent himself. He had been working on a project of his own called Control Your Narrative.
Currently, EC3 is the NWA World Heavyweight Champion and he’s the Over Man. He recently defeated Thom Latimer in a No Disqualification match to retain his title at the NWA Samhain event. Following the victory, the Champion took to Twitter that nobody can dethrone him.
“So it is the #overMAN who wears the championship, who owns the victory, that absorbs the powers and lives as the conquered [sic] live for a period of time. In doing this, the #overMAN fulfills his purpose. In short, nobody can kick my ass. #overCHAMP #overERA #Worldtitle #WorldTour,” EC3 tweeted.
EC3 compares the world of professional wrestling to the Marvel Cinematic Universe
The former WWE Superstar was recently interviewed by Cleveland.com. During the interview, EC3 compared professional wrestling to Hollywood and more specifically the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“The only difference is we’re not making someone like Tom Cruise look good in an action movie. But that’s what we all bring to the table. You know, as a veteran of this industry who got started in a garage across the street from Lake County Captains Stadium, I live those humble beginnings. My career started there on a very, very small scale. It’s been a blessing to work hard, grow, train, put myself in a position to travel the world through professional wrestling — working for some of the biggest companies in the world.
“This industry has put itself in such a niche, in such a bubble, that we’re not reaching casual fans to some degree, you know? Folks think they can’t follow along if they’re not completely up to date on all the soap opera storylines. But you gotta start somewhere. Casual fans can just jump in. I think about Marvel Comics, you know? I didn’t know much about Iron Man or Thor way back when. But now, 20 years of movies later, I know it quite a bit. And though I don’t know all the ‘Easter eggs’ or backstories, I do have a broad knowledge and I’m entertained,” EC3 said.
