R-Truth (a.k.a Ron Killings) has released a new song.
The 54-time 24/7 Champion (aka the self-proclaimed 24/7 48/7 7/11 I-95 South European Champion) has been absent from WWE for a long time due to an injury he suffered during an episode of NXT. The unfortunate injury took place on January 11, 2023.
Following the initial injury, he had to undergo another surgery as well.
Truth is not only a WWE Superstar, he also has been releasing music from time to time. He recently released a new song called ‘Better Play’. The music video was released on the World Star Hip Hop YouTube Channel.
WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg wanted R-Truth to be his tag team partner
Before his run in WWE, R-Truth was in developmental. He wanted to quit wrestling as he was only being discouraged. But his mindset changed thanks to Road Dogg. He discussed all this during an interview in the Battleground podcast.
“I cherished The Road Dogg when I was in Memphis, TN wrestling Jerry Lawler,” Truth said. “The first time he saw me rapping going to the ring, he said, ‘Would you want to be my tag team partner?’ I’m like, ‘Hell yeah, I’ll be your tag team partner.’ I was in developmental and wrestling was new to me, I got discouraged and I got depressed… Road Dogg was on vacation with his wife. They left the casino and came to one of the TV tapings, saw me rapping, fell in love with me, and I told him, ‘Man, I don’t think I’m cut out for this.’ He said, ‘Don’t fool yourself. Don’t sell yourself short.’ He saw something in me right then and there. He said, ‘If you don’t give up, I’ll have you out of here and tagging with me in less than a month,’” R-Truth said.
There is still no update on when the WWE Superstar will return to in-ring action.
