Sheamus is reportedly dealing with a serious injury that’s keeping him out of the ring.
F4WOnline.com‘s Dave Meltzer (via Wrestling Observer Radio) is reporting Sheamus is dealing with a “really bad” shoulder injury.
“By the way, Sheamus — really bad shoulder injury,” Meltzer said. “That’s why he hasn’t been on TV or at the house shows.”
Sheamus has not wrestled since he lost to Edge on the August 18 episode of SmackDown. His Brawling Brutes teammates, Ridge Holland & Butch, have continued to appear on TV. Their last match, a tag team loss to Austin Theory & Grayson Waller, came without Sheamus by their side.
Sheamus recently sat down with Matty Paddock of Daily Star and said one of his goals is to win the Intercontinental Championship.
“I’m not much of a politician, to be honest with you. I just roll my sleeves up, get in there, and get stuck in,” he said. “The journey is just as important, that story of me trying to get my hands on the title as it’s the one title I haven’t got.
“It’s still a fresh story. Even with Gunther and Drew’s match at SummerSlam, people are still mentioning me because it’s still my story. I’d definitely like to retire with [the title], but that stuff is out of my control. I can just do what I can do.”
