Paul Wight: I’m Going To Have Fun With Captain Insano Before I Retire

Paul Wight still wants to have some fun with Captain Insano.

Wight has not wrestled since March 2022; he had knee replacement surgery and later stated that he spent 11 weeks in a wheelchair. He remains involved with AEW in a non-wrestling capacity, and his in-ring future is clear.

In a tweet, a fan asked Wight whether he would ever write a book about his life and career. He responded by noting that he probably wouldn’t, at least not until he retired. Wight stated that he’s going to have fun with Captain Insano before he hangs up the boots for good.

Wight previously played Captain Insano in The Waterboy. He brought back the character back on the November, 16, 2022, episode of AEW Dynamite, where he appeared in a music video for The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster).

In a previous interview, Wight noted that he’s focused on rehab and getting stronger so he can return to the ring stronger. Check out his comments here.

As of this writing, it’s unknown when Wight will return to the ring. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
