Mike Bailey Wants To Be X-Division And World Champion At The Same Time

Mike Bailey wants to hold several championships simultaneously in IMPACT Wrestling.

Speaking with Tim Battle on the Battleground Podcast, “Speedball” Mike Bailey laid out what some of his goals are for the near future.

“Well, I think step one is going to be win the Best of Super Juniors tournament,” Bailey said. “If I can win that and make a huge statement by doing so — but I’m looking at Steve Maclin, of course, but I’m also looking at the X-Division Championship scene. We’ve got a big match between Trey Miguel and Chris Sabin coming up at Under Siege, and I like to keep my options open and I will land wherever I fit best.”

While “Speedball” is still eyeing his first IMPACT World Championship, he made it known that he wants to hold all of the gold at the same time.

“My goal is both. I want to be both X-Division and World Champion at the same time. Maybe Tag Team Champion at the same time as well, but that’s what I’m gunning for,” Bailey added. “I’m a ‘shoot for the moon and even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars’ [kind of guy]. I want to achieve big things, and I don’t think it’s been done before. I would love to be the first one to do it. Winning the X-Division Championship in an Ultimate X match at the 20th anniversary of Slammiversary seemed absolutely impossible as well, yet I did it.”

Bailey was able to hold the X-Division title for 110 days in 2022 before losing it to Frankie Kazarian. Meanwhile, the last person to hold three titles in IMPACT was Bobby Lashley in 2016 when he held the World, X-Division, and King of the Mountain Championship at the same time.
