AEW paid tribute to Jay Briscoe.
During the January 18 episode of AEW Dynamite, the company and a number of stars paid tribute to the late Jay Briscoe throughout the broadcast that aired 24 hours after Tony Khan broke the news of his passing. Briscoe died at the age of 38 on Tuesday as the result of a car crash. He was also one-half of the reigning ROH World Tag Team Champions alongside brother Mark Briscoe.
Dynamite opened with a tribute graphic before the All-Atlantic Championship match kicked off the action. During that bout, former ROH World Champion Jay Lethal sported an armband with “Briscoe” on it. The announce team also addressed the loss while sending their sympathies to Jay’s family.
Additionally, Matt and Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks both wore armbands with “Jay” written on it during their match against Top Flight. The Bucks also hit Doomsday Device to honor The Briscoes.
