The viewership decrease last night can be directed toward the Spectrum TV outage last night that affected 30 million homes in the United States last night, according to Dave Meltzer. Who tweeted out:
The AEW rating is likely way down because of the Spectrum cable issues. That's 30 million homes with problems. Both video and then audio throughout the show. NHL will also suffer greatly in ratings from last night.

Despite the decrease in viewership, AEW Dynamite took the third spot in the demographic among cable originals overall Wednesday night. On cable, they were only defeated by ESPN’s coverage of NBA Basketball, according to Showbuzz Daily.
This week’s show kicked off with the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale, which was won by Ricky Starks. The main event saw The Acclaimed defeat FTR to successfully retain their AEW World Tag Team Titles.
