Samoa Joe sent a vicious message to the reigning AEW TNT Champion on the November 9 episode of AEW Dynamite by ambushing Wardlow in a stunning turn.
Following a dominant title defense against Ari Daivari, Wardlow called out Powerhouse Hobbs, who has set his sights on the gold in recent weeks. Hobbs answered the call, and as he began to walk down the ramp to face Wardlow, Joe, the reigning ROH World Television Champion, blindsided Wardlow from behind.
After dropping Wardlow, Joe then quickly locked him in the Coquina Clutch and choke out the champion. Meanwhile, Hobbs watched on with a laugh while he also told Joe that he’d be happy to face him too.

Wardlow and Joe had been aligned as WardJoe in recent weeks; they won three matches together as a duo. Tensions sparked between the two powerhouses when Waedlow pushed Joe to yell at Hobbs on the November 4 episode of AEW Rampage.
