Stephen Amell had a front row seat for the action and shared his enthusiasm for AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.
All Elite Wrestling had more than 20,000 fans last night at Arthur Ashe Stadium for AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. Among them was actor Stephen Amell, who was seen on camera exchanging pleasantries with CM Punk following his promo on last night’s show.
Amell, who evidently had a great time last night, took to social media this morning to praise AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam and joked that none of this would have been possible had he not sold out the Sears Center against Christopher Daniels at All In:
“Absolutely blown away by the entire @AEW outfit. Grand Slam was a grand slam. And to think… all of this happened because I sold out the Sears Center in 2018,” Amell tweeted.
All In wasn’t Stephen Amell’s first venture into professional wrestling, as he previously worked a five-on-four handicap match at Ring Of Honor’s “Survival Of The Fittest” in 2017, teaming with Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson against Flip Gordon, Scorpio Sky, Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian. He also teamed with Neville (PAC) to face Stardust (Cody Rhodes) and King Barrett at WWE SummerSlam 2015. It’s interesting to look back on that and realize that three of the four men in that match now all have ties in some form or fashion to All Elite Wrestling.
Currently, you can see Stephen Amell and his co-star Alexander Ludwig on the television show Heels on STARZ every Sunday night. Before the season premiere, Amell and Ludwig sat down with WrestleZone to talk about what it took to create an authentic wrestling product for the fans. You can read more about that by clicking here. You can also read more of our Heels interviews, including talks with James Harrison, Chris Bauer, CM Punk, Kelli Berglund and Alison Luff at this link.
