Santana Garrett Released By WWE, Issues Statement

Santana Garrett is no longer with WWE.

Fightful is reporting Santana Garrett was released by WWE on Wednesday, June 2. WWE has since confirmed the move, issuing the following statement. Garrett was one of the multiple names announced in today’s roster cuts.

WWE has come to terms on the releases of Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Murphy, Ruby Riott and Santana Garrett.

WWE wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors.

Garrett signed with WWE in August 2019 and largely worked as a talent on the NXT brand. Prior to signing, she had appeared sporadically as an enhancement talent and also appeared in the inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament. In addition to her work in WWE, Garrett appeared as ‘Brittany’ in TNA Wrestling in 2014. She is also a former NWA World Women’s Champion, Shine Champion, and Wonder Of Stardom Champion.

Garrett’s last match for WWE was on January 31, when she appeared as an entrant in the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble match.

PWInsider is reporting WWE had actually planned on moving Garrett to the main roster and she was set to debut on the SmackDown brand, but plans never materialized.
