Report: Tessa Blanchard Not Being Pursued By AEW

AEW has been adding plenty of new faces to its women division, but don’t get your hopes up too high if you’re thinking Dynamite will be a destination point for Tessa Blanchard.

According to Dave Meltzer in his latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, when the former IMPACT World Champion’s name gets brought up behind the curtains at AEW, there no one denying Tessa’s in ring talent and management understands the value she could bring to their women’s division, but despite that, the decision has been made to not pursue her.

Blanchard has only wrestled once since COVID-19 took over the world back in March and ironically enough, it was against Kylie Rae for Warrior Wrestling out of Chicago. Rae, who recently announced her retirement from the sport, had stints with both AEW and IMPACT. Tessa sure had her tangles with IMPACT, particularly with her possession of the company’s actual World Title during the start of the pandemic. Blanchard’s contract with IMPACT was terminated back in June, just five days before her contract was set to officially expire.
