Ronda Rousey has commented on nearly losing her finger while on the set of FOX’s ‘9-1-1.’ The broken middle finger was repaired with bolts and screws.
Rousey released a video to further elaborate on the injury where she noted that on the first take of her first scene she was trying to push a big door on a boat but she was too short and that was the issue. At first, she thought she just smashed her finger and it was no big deal until after the scene.
She joked about how every time that she and her husband Travis Browne plan a vacation she ends up in a cast. Rousey is expected to return to filming for the show in early September through October.
Later in the video, Rousey noted that she doesn’t like pain medication because it makes her sick so she was awake during the surgery with little medication.

“So the word is out I nearly lost my finger shooting @911onfox. Freak accident, first take of the day a boat door fell on my hand, I thought I just jammed my fingers so I finished the take before looking (I know it sounds crazy, but I’m used to live audiences and never showing pain unless I’m supposed to) after a break in the action I told our director the situation and was rushed via ambulance to the hospital where they promptly reattached my bone and tendon with a plate and screws. I returned to filming the next day and finished my scenes before returning home to recover. Modern medicine amazes me, I already had 50% range of motion back in 3 days.
