2015 as a whole was not a good year for WWE. It felt like a transition year and it was very clear that the quality of the product was the weakest that it had been in years. 2011-2014 were all solid years for the product, which is probably why 2015 felt like a complete creative burnout.
Sure, WrestleMania 31 turned into a surprisingly great PPV (It was a dreaded PPV prior to the show), but even with an incredible WWE Champion for most of the year, it was hard to salvage the product as a whole. There was so much repetition on a week-to-week basis, with six-man tag team matches being ever-present on a weekly basis.
Despite this, there were two stars who really stood out among the rest – John Cena and Seth Rollins, with the latter in particular being the central figure of the show as well as the most popular star (despite being a heel).
This isn’t to say that 2015 didn’t have good matches – because it did. Here are the five best ones.
