Asuka Showed Both Sides of the Fence
The WWE NXT Universe will cheer and boo for whoever they like, no matter if a face or a heel. Asuka was the prime example of this, trying to become a heel when getting over women over. Just because she continued to win does not mean other women had the opportunity to get over. Ruby Riot, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce and Ember Moon are four solid women who will be lining up to potentially get a championship opportunity and all four were able to benefit from working with Asuka. Hell, even Nikki Cross rose from the ranks because of their championship matches and feuds. What this shows you is that Asuka, while undefeated, never really harmed the progression of the other women in the show. If anything, she helped.
Asuka defended her Title at Takeover More Than Anyone Else
NXT Takeover: Dallas – Defeated Bayley
NXT Takeover: The End – defeated Nia Jax
NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II – defeated Bayley
NXT Takeover: Toronto – defeated Mickie James
NXT Takeover: San Antonio – defeated Billie Kay, Peyton Royce and Nikki Cross
NXT Takeover: Orlando – defeated Ember Moon
NXT Takeover: Chicago – defeated Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross
NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III – defeated Ember Moon
All of these matches were great, with none of them feeling like a let down. This list does not even include the multiple times she has defended it on WWE NXT shows on Wednesday and also does not talk about how she worked live events when an injured Naomi could not compete. Asuka had the chance to work big cities such as New York with the live event crew and still carried her way in the NXT Universe as one of the most beloved wrestlers that they have.
At the end of the day, Asuka will be called up to RAW or Smackdown Live and hopefully continue her incredible undefeated streak. RAW would be a great fit for her, as Smackdown Live has too many women trying to remain important at the moment. Whether you agree of disagree with this article, you have to applaud Asuka and NXT for developing her in the perfect way and for Asuka to do everything she needed to so the fans would never turn their backs on her.
Her longevity, excellence in the ring, charisma, energy, music, entrance, lighting and overall appeal are all reasons why Asuka leaves NXT as the best.
