Backstage WWE Reaction to Last Week’s Raw Viewership Drop

Booker TAccording to PWInsider.com, WWE officials were surprised with the drop in Raw viewership last week for the final segment featuring Stephanie McMahon and Brie Bella.

The Stephanie and Brie segment from this week’s Raw also saw a drop in viewership, but it has yet to be reported how WWE reacted internally.

Paglino: I saw a lot of readers citing lack of interest in the Stephanie McMahon and Brie Bella story line as the cause of the viewership drop, but I don’t necessarily agree with that opinion. I actually think the feud has been executed quite well, and the arrest segment on Raw a few weeks back was excellently performed by everyone involved.

That said, however, I don’t prefer to see that feud in the main event segment of Raw, and I think that’s what viewers were reacting to. The feud is interesting, but when both participants in the main event of the biggest PPV of the summer are not consistently on Raw just weeks before the event, it’s hard to get excited for a Raw main event featuring a low to mid-card feud.
