Backstage, Johnny Impact says a lot of what Aries said about him is true. The one thing that Impact doesn’t do is walk around with titles from other promotions. Impact isn’t an insecure person. The only think Impact came here for was to win the Impact championship. That’s what he is going to do tonight.
Impact World Championship Match: Austin Aries (c) vs Johnny Impact
Impact floors Austin with a shoulder block. Leg sweep followed by a leg drop by Impact. Aries and Impact trade armbars. Impact takes Aries over with a head scissors. Aries does a headstand out of the hold then hits a dropkick. Impact rolls out of the ring. Aries dives over the top onto Impact. After the break, Aries catches Impact with a boot. Aries tries a leapfrog but Impact catches Aries on his shoulder. Inverted rolling senton by Impact. Impact lands a corkscrew elbow drop for a near fall. Impact tries a springboard but Aries sweeps his legs. Impact hits the turnbuckles then falls face first on the ring apron. Aries hits a forearm off the top. Aries sends Impact back into the ring. Senton by Aries. Aries lands a second rope elbow to Impact’s back. Impact surprises Aries with a sliding German suplex. Aries tries to walk away but Impact catches him with a double jump disaster kick for another near fall. Impact and Aries trade strikes. Aries misses the Discus Five-arm.
Impact hits a leg lariat followed by a standing shooting star press for another near fall. Aries rolls up Impact. Impact kicks out. Aries locks in the Last Chancery. Impact gets his foot on the ropes to break the hold. Aries tries the brainbuster. Impact avoids it. Aries mounts the top rope. Impact tries to hit a Spanish fly but Aries pushes him off the top. Impact does a backflip and lands on his feet. Impact kicks Aries in the head. Aries is crotches on the top rope. Impact blast Aries with a second rope Spanish fly! Aries kicks out! Impact misses the Impact elbow. Aries boxes Impacts ears. Aries and Impact end up on the apron. Impact goes for a kick but Aries lifts him up and hits a DVD on the apron. Aries snaps Impact with a rope hang neck breaker. Aries tries his running corner dropkick. Impact kicks Aries before Aries can kick him. Impact gets a near fall. Impact misses Starship Pain. Aries tosses Impact into the corner. Corner dropkick by Aries. Aries hits the Brain Buster for the win.
Winner and STILL Impact Wrestling Champion, Austin Aries!
After the match, Aries helps up Impact. Aries and Impact hug. Alberto El Patron comes out on the ramp and claps.
