Chris Jericho (c) vs. Kevin Owens
Jericho takes down the challenger and they brawl to the outside, with the champ slamming Owens’ injured finger into the ring steps over and over again. He tries to smash it in between the steps and the ring again, but Kevin bails and lays him out. Owens chokes him with his boot in the corner until the ref makes him back off. Jericho comes off the ropes with a clothesline and pounds away at him on the mat. He tries for a corner splash but comes up empty and rolls to the floor, Owens following him and hitting a cannonball into the barricade.
After a commercial break Owens dodges a Lionsualt, but comes up empty on a cannonball splash to the corner. Jericho hits the Lionsault on his second attempt for two. He tries for the Walls, but the challenger spins out of it. He goes for it again and this time locks it in, but Owens pulls himself to the bottom rope to lock it in. Jericho goes for his triangle springboard dropkick, but is hung over the top rope instead. Owens attempts the pop-up powerbomb but Y2J rolls through and again applies the Walls in the center of the ring. He claws his way to the ropes, but the champion pulls it back to the center; Owens fights back and eventually manages to get a hand on the ropes. He rolls to the floor to take a breather, but Jericho follows, running into a stiff superkick, followed by a DDT on the entrance ramp. Owens slowly rolls him back into the ring and hits another superkick, but the champ kicks out at two-and-a-half. KO picks him up and starts yelling in his face, and Jericho rolls him up out of nowhere for a nearfall. Owens hits the pop-up powerbomb for the 1…2…3. Winner and New Champion: Kevin Owens
– After the match, Chris Jericho is laying hurt in the ring. A team of medics and officials come out to check on him, but Owens comes back and puts the boots to him, then hits him with another pop-up powerbomb. He refuses to stop, and tries for yet another powerbomb, but Jericho just collapses. The champion eventually leaves with his title, and a team of about a dozen officials and medics comes out to help Jericho walk to the back. Owens comes back out and attacks Chris one more time. He grabs a steel chair, but stops when referees get in his way. Instead he wraps the chair around his neck and throws him hard into the ring post. Smackdown goes off the air with Kevin Owens on the ramp, and Jericho laying on the ground bleeding from the mouth.
