WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony Coverage (3/31): DDP, Rick Rude, Kurt Angle and More Immortalized, Jim Cornette Speaks, Bischoff and More

Jerry “The King” Lawler –

Lawler says that if the next inductee was here he would tell all of the Orlando sweat hogs to be quite while he takes his robe off.

Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat-

Steamboat says eight years ago he was on this stage receiving his hall of fame ring. You just saw on the screen Rick Rude. They broke the mold with Rude. Rude won numerous titles. Rude told him years ago that he was a heel, he was stingy and he didn’t want to share his heat with anyone. Rude would look into the crowd, point at a guy and say, “you wish you had a six-pack like me”. Rude would then point at the women that guy was with and way, ” you wish he had a six-pack like me!”Steamboat says he remembered watching Rude in the gym doing wrist curls with an 80-pound dumb bell. When Steamboat first met Rude he remembered shaking Rudes’ hand. He was so powerful in every part of his body. Rude was an Enforcer for D-Generation X and a member of Bobby Heenan’s Family. Steamboat notes that Rude was a bit snug in the ring. Steamboat introduces the Rude Family to accept his Hall of Fame induction.

The Rude Family-

Rude’s son tells the stage hands to cut the music. When he found out that he was going to have to accept this award for his father he had no idea how he would do it. He has never been in this situation before. After giving it some thought, he realizes that he should just think about what his father would say in a moment like this. So what he is going to need is all of you fat, out of shape, overweight, central Florida sweat hogs to keep the noise down so the ladies can get what they came for tonight. He isn’t here to tell you about Rude’s professional stats because you all probably know those better than he does. Rude Jr runs down his father’s accomplishments. In order to do great work, you have to love what you do. Rick Rude loved what he did.
