WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony Coverage (3/31): DDP, Rick Rude, Kurt Angle and More Immortalized, Jim Cornette Speaks, Bischoff and More

Jerry “The King” Lawler –

The final Inductee of the WWE Hall of fame conquered the Olympics before conquering the WWE Universe.

John Cena-

Before Cena can speak, the crowd screams, “let’s go Miz” Cena says the moment we are about to experience is long overdue. Kurt Angle is in a class all his own. Angle’s accomplishments are second to none. He didn’t just win an Olympic gold medal, but he won it with an injury that would put all of us in a hospital bed. In less than two years he became the measuring stick for all WWE Superstars. Angle is the type of individual that sons would tell their sons about. The son would look at their father and say there is no way that could be true. The father would look back at their son and say it’s true, it’s damn true!

Kurt Angle-

As Angle walks to the podium, the crowd chants, “you suck!” Angle says that after winning a gold medal… with a broken freaking neck, Vince came to him an offered him a contract to be a WWE Superstar. Angle said he knew nothing about pro wrestling at the time. So as he looked at the contract and it was more money than he had ever seen, he said to Vince that if he signs this contract he could never lose a match in the WWE ever. Needless to say, he never heard back from Vince. Two years later he started to watch WWE RAW and he fell in love with it. Angle called Jim Ross and asked if the contract was available still? Ross said, no, but you can come and try out like everyone else. Angle list everyone who helped him along the way. Angle says he was lucky enough to have unselfish Superstars to carry him through so many battles. Angle list everyone he faced back in the day.
