Backstage Bobby Roode says Ohno doesn’t deserve a title shot because he is a failure. He is going to prove that tonight.
NXT Championship Match: Bobby Roode (c) vs Kassius Ohno
Ohno rolls up Roode for a two count. As soon as Roode escapes, Ohno rolls up Roode again. Roode kicks out. As soon a Roode stands up, Ohno takes him down and rolls him up again. Roode manages to kick out. Roode immediately rolls to the outside to get away from Ohno. Roode tries to kick Ohno in the gut, but Ohno catches Roode foot, Ohno grabs a side headlock then suplexes Roode. Roode whips Ohno into the ropes and attempts a leapfrog but Ohno holds onto the ropes to avoid it. Ohno almost decapitates Roode with a bicycle kick. Ohno picks up Roode and lands a few chops. Roode lands a few of his own. Ohno decks Roode with a stiff right hand. Roode stumbles to the opposite corner. Ohno runs in and lands a stiff chop. Ohno clotheslines Roode over the top rope.
After a short break, Roode catches Ohno with a Northern Lariat. Roode chokes Ohno on the middle rope. Short arm clothesline by Roode. Roode mounts the top rope and levels Ohno with a flying ax handle. Ohno catches Roode with a few uppercuts. Roode cuts him off and hits an elbow drop followed by a running knee. Roode locks in a rear chin lock. Ohno manages to reverse it into a chin breaker. Roode whips Ohno into the ropes, but Ohno flips over and lands on his feet. Roode charges in and eats a big boot through the ropes. Ohno tries to Irish whip Roode, but Roode reverses it and sends Ohno into the corner with such force that Ohno tumbles over the top rope to the outside.
