Rusev (w/ Lana) vs R-Truth
Truth tells Rusev that every flag waving American will be gunning for him in the Royal Rumble this weekend, then he knocks Rusev outside. Rusev comes back with a superkick, then he stomps Truth and makes him tap out to the Accolade.
Winner – Rusev
Jey Uso (w/ Jimmy Uso) vs The Miz (w/ Damien Mizdow)
Miz kicks Jey and sends him into the corner, then he goes for a Skull Crushing Finale but Jey sidesteps him and Miz goes into the ringpost. Jey slides to the floor and kicks Miz in the face, then he splashes him from the top rope for the win.
Winner – Jey Uso
BP: Time filler, and nothing more. These teams have been working together for weeks, and this was the biggest waste yet.
John Cena vs Seth Rollins, Big Show & Kane
Rollins hits Cena a few times, then Kane hits Cena a few times and taunts him in the corner. Big Show comes in and Cena tries to hit him a few times, then he goes for a press slam but Show’s weight is too much. Show falls on him and he taunts Cena as we go to a break, then we get back to see Rollins put Cena in a sleeperhold. Rollins hits him a few more times before Show tags in and goes for a slingshot bomb, but Cena rolls away so Rollins comes back in and tries to stomp Cena from the turnbuckles. Cena ducks and tackles Kane to the floor, then he shoulder tackles Rollins and goes for an Attitude Adjustment but Mercury and Noble pull Rollins to the ropes.
Rollins kicks Cena in the face for two, then Cena comes out of nowhere with an AA but Kane pulls him outside to break the count. Show spears Cena as Triple H walks over to look at the damage, then he mocks Cena as is getting counted out, but Cena dives back in at nine. Kane calls for a chokeslam and connects, but Cena kicks out at two so Rollins screams for a tag and sets up for a Curb Stomp. Sting appears on the Titantron and everyone stops what they are doing, then the lights go out in the arena and Sting heads to the ring! Sting stands on the ramp and points down towards Triple H, and the lights come back up and Cena uses the distraction to roll Rollins up for the win.
Winner – John Cena
Cena celebrates in the crowd with the fans and heads backstage, then Triple H flips out and screams for Sting. He screams that Sting doesn’t belong there, but the fans chant ‘We Want Sting’ as Brock Lesnar makes his way down to the ring. Brock tackles Rollins and lays into him before Big Show and Kane break it up, but Brock knocks Show into the ropes and drops Kane with a F-5. Rollins tries to get back into it but Brock drops him again, then he picks Show up and drops him with a F-5 as Rollins runs for it.
BP: This show largely sucked, but this final segment was awesome. I had a feeling Sting would be the guy to help, and it delivered without disappointment. I’m glad they used tonight for the rehiring part, or else that would have ruined the Royal Rumble title match. As if the Sting appearance wasn’t enough, it almost made you forget for a moment Brock was still around. He looked like a total badass, and they did something great here in that they sold the match on Sunday without Cena. Rollins gets a bit of a rub, and it just seems that much more exciting, and unpredictable.
