TNA Re-Launches in 2015
In preparation for their return to television this week on Destination America, TNA has re-signed several top names. Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards were given new deals, as were Ken Anderson, Abyss, Madison Rayne, Jessie Godderz and many others. Major names like Kurt Angle were also officially given new contracts, as expected.
In terms of big names they are trying to bring in for the live show this Wednesday, former WWE Champion Alberto del Rio is being offered a big money sum from TNA, but is also courting deals from Bellator MMA and Lucha Underground, plus his current deal with Ring of Honor. D.A. will be running an all-day marathon of TNA content prior to the live premiere.
Several names will not be joining the show when Impact Wrestling returns. Rampage Jackson was moved to the alumni section after he signed a controversial new deal with the UFC. It also looks like Rob Terry will not be getting a new deal.
There was a lot of speculation surrounding the future of TNA’s pay-per-view business, after it was announced that the annual Lockdown event will be taped and given away for free on Impact this year. However, Dixie Carter has mentioned that there will still be some actual pay-per-view shows in 2015, with a handful of One Night Only events as well. While still unconfirmed, the most likely paid events to keep live would be Slammiversary and Bound for Glory.
