There’s an update regarding multiple AEW stars who were unable to compete in the US due to visa issues.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that AEW’s El Clon and The Beast Mortos have had their visas approved. “Should mention Mortos and Clon both got their visas approved,” he said.
El Clon last competed in the United States for AEW on the April 22, 2026, episode of Collision, where he unsuccessfully challenged Jack Perry for the National Championship. Now that his visa is approved, he wrestled at the Collision taping on Wednesday at the Pinnacle in Nashville. He took on Lio Rush in a qualifying match for the International title match at the Redemption pay-per-view this Sunday.
As for The Beast Mortos, he last competed for AEW in the United States on the March 18, 2026, episode of Collision, where he teamed with Dralistico and Rush to defeat Alpha Zo, Dom Kubrick, and Lucas Riley in a six-man tag team match. He and Sammy Guevara dropped the ROH World Tag Team Championship to Mascara Dorada and Mistico at CMLL’s Viernes Espectacular event in Mexico City on June 26.
AEW is gearing up to host the inaugural Redemption PPV this Sunday
The inaugural AEW Redemption pay-per-view will take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on July 26, 2026. The promotion has ten matches on the card so far.
