WWE NXT Star Reflects On Shockingly Short Title Run

WWE NXT has featured a lot of short title reigns over the years, but this one was particularly alarming in the grand scheme of things.

Three weeks ago, WWE NXT kicked off with a Women’s North American Title match between Blake Monroe and Thea Hail. In a finish that wasn’t supposed to take place, Hail pinned Monroe to win the title. This took place after Monroe had the air knocked out of her, and the referee made the three-count, calling it as a shoot.

Last night at WWE NXT New Year’s Evil, the company had a chance to revert those changes and put things back to the way they were. Instead, they had Monroe attack Hail, leading to their match being canceled. So instead, Hail was booked to have “dumb babyface” syndrome. Where she insisted on defending her title despite being hurt and dropped the title to Izzi Dame, who lost a big match earlier in the show to Tatum Paxley.

The former champion took to social media earlier today to reflect upon her very short title run, tweeting out:

“I was the most chaotic champion ever and that can never be taken away,” Thea Hail said in a post.

It will be very interesting to see how Hail is booked in WWE NXT going forward.
