John Cena Reflects on Wrapping It Up With WWE in 2025

John Cena has reflected on an unforgettable 2025, the year he officially wrapped up his iconic in-ring career with WWE.

2025 marked a historic retirement run for John Cena. WWE’s Greatest of All Time embarked on a 12-month retirement tour that took him across the globe. During the tour, Cena captured his record-breaking 17th world championship. He also finally became a WWE Grand Slam Champion by winning the Intercontinental Title from Dominik Mysterio.

Cena wrestled his final match a few weeks ago on WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. In Washington, D.C., He faced Gunther in his retirement bout and ultimately tapped out to a rear-naked choke. The match closed the curtain on his in-ring career.

After wrapping up his retirement tour with a memorable final year in WWE, Cena shared a heartfelt message, thanking everyone for their support.

He wrote, “Life goes on and we all move onward, as 2026 is here I’ll fondly remember so many moments from 2025. Thanks to ALL fans, co workers, critics and anyone around the world who used their voice to make 2025 a year that I’ll never forget. Omnia Dedi. Pro omnibus gratias ago.”

The message perfectly summed up Cena’s mindset as he stepped away from the ring one rooted in gratitude, reflection, and pride. He ended the message with a powerful Latin phrase, “Omnia Dedi. Pro omnibus gratias ago.

The line translates to, “I gave everything, thanks for everything.” After more than two decades at the top of the industry, John Cena’s farewell year will be remembered as a celebration of legacy.
