Seth Rollins addresses his WWE WrestleMania 42 status.
Seth Rollins has been absent from WWE television since October, when he was booted out of The Vision by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. The angle was used to write him off TV so he could recover from a torn rotator cuff injury he suffered at Crown Jewel: Perth.
During a previous appearance on Games With Names, Rollins explained how he suffered the injury during his match against Cody Rhodes, confirming it occurred while performing a coast-to-coast headbutt.
“I did what we call a coast-to-coast headbutt,” Seth Rollins said, “So I jumped from one turnbuckle all the way across the ring to the other turnbuckle, where Cody Rhodes was hanging upside down, and I headbutted him. But, in the landing, I didn’t stick it. I did not stick the landing.
“I rotated a little bit to my left, landed hard on my left elbow, jolted it up into the shoulder, felt it go right away, and it was like, ‘Oh, we got a lot left to do in this match. How much can I do?’ I was like, ‘Can I do it? Should we go in a different direction with the finish? What should we do here?’”
Seth Rollins on whether he’ll be ready for WWE WrestleMania 42
Speaking on Mohr Stories with Jay Mohr, Rollins was asked about his status for WrestleMania 42. Rollins noted that he is working hard to return. However, the decision ultimately rests with the doctors and whether he is healthy enough to compete.
“I will be working hard to try,” Seth Rollins said. “I don’t know the answer to that; it’s really not up to me. They have to clear me.” [H/T: WrestleTalk]
Seth Rollins was reportedly part of the original WrestleMania 42 plans for Night 2, which would have seen him face longtime rival Roman Reigns. However, his injury forced WWE to change direction regarding the main event.
