Netflix is gearing up for a documentary on Hulk Hogan.
Netflix Vice President of Sports Gabe Spitzer recently joined John Ourand of The Varsity for a new interview. During the conversation, Spitzer revealed that Netflix filmed 20 hours’ worth of interviews with Hulk Hogan before his passing.
“We have reached sort of a tipping point in the ‘follow doc genre,’ as we call it, where maybe there are too many of them, so we have to be a bit pickier in terms of the ones we’re doing. We still have Quarterback,” he said.
“We’re still doing many seasons of Drive to Survive. We have America’s Sweethearts on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Outside of that, there are incredible other docs coming. Hulk Hogan, Mike Tyson, Deion Sanders. There are plenty of good ones still out there.
“Hulk Hogan, we had been filming with Hogan for 20 hours around the time of when he passed. We think that can be a good one.” [H/T Fightful]
Jake Paul wore Hulk Hogan-inspired gear for Anthony Joshua fight
Jake Paul paid tribute to Hulk Hogan by wearing the Hulkster’s iconic red-and-yellow colors for his fight against Anthony Joshua on December 19. The Problem Child was accompanied to the ring by Tekashi 6ix9ine.
Paul’s gear also featured the bandana popularized by Hogan during the 1980s. Despite his boisterous entrance, Paul failed to secure the win, as he was knocked out by the former world champion in the sixth round.
In a subsequent photo on his own Instagram page, Jake revealed that his jaw had been broken in two places. Despite the injury, he still seems ready to continue fighting in the boxing ring.
