The Latest On Will Ospreay’s Potential AEW Return — Report

We now have more information regarding the timeline for Will Ospreay‘s AEW return.

Over the weekend, AEW fans got a thrill when they thought they might be getting Will Ospreay back in the ring this January. But now that doesn’t appear to be the case.

In the latest the Figure Four Daily Update, Dave Meltzer clarified the initial post, revealing that Ospreay’s target for January is when he should be able to resume light weight workouts.

“Regarding Will Ospreay, some people brought up to me from a social media post thinking he would be back in January. That is not the case. He is hopeful of being able to start light weight workouts in January. He is a long way away from returning.” – Dave Meltzer

On behalf of everyone at WrestleZone, we wish Will Ospreay a quick and painless recovery.

The source of the confusion

Over the weekend, the Body Alignment Clinic, which is responsible for Will Ospreay’s rehab in the United Kingdom, took to Instagram to post an update on Will Ospreay’s recovery process and a potential return timetable to AEW. Stating the following:

“@aew Allstar @willospreay 6 weeks post op and doing great! Still some way to go with but we’re on the right road. Jan 2026 *rocket emoji* *siren emoji* Don’t Try This At Home! aew #willospreay #bodyalignmentclinic #teamstraightspine,” The Body Alignment Clinic said in a post.
