Tony Khan remains hopeful to see Britt Baker back in an AEW ring.
Baker has not been seen on AEW television since November 2024, and she is still reportedly under contract with AEW for at least another year.
The former AEW Women’s World Champion has been the subject of rumors in recent months, with one story claiming that she was actively trying to leave the company. This summer, Khan said that he’s never had a conversation with Baker about leaving the company and remained optimistic about getting her back in AEW.
Khan gave a bit of an update on her status on Tuesday, telling Josh Martinez of Z100 New York that she’s still under contract.
“Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. And what a great star Dr. Britt Baker has been, and she is still a fantastic, fantastic wrestling star. She’s been away from AEW for a while, but still very much with us. And at some point, hopefully soon, I’d love to see Dr. Britt Baker come back.”
Fans also expected Baker to appear on AEW’s Dynamite taping in Pittsburgh last month. She ultimately didn’t return, which led to more speculation about her status in the company. Baker hasn’t been very active online as of late, but she did send an encouraging message to her fans on social media.
Tony Khan also addressed Andrade and Chris Jericho’s absences
During the interview, Khan was also asked about the statuses of Andrade and Chris Jericho. Khan told Martinez that Andrade left on good terms after Worlds End 2023 and he’s excited for his future, echoing his comments on a media call ahead of AEW WrestleDream last week.
In regard to Jericho, Khan noted his accolades in the company and said “the door’s always open” to get him back in AEW.
