Andrade returned to WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble. This return took place after a two-year run in AEW. However, Andrade shocked everyone when it was announced that he had once again been released by WWE this month.
Details surrounding the reason for Andrade’s release are still unclear. However, a recent report by F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer (via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter), claims that some in WWE were frustrated over Andrade’s English not improving.
One WWE source also told Meltzer that there was a feeling of “buyer’s remorse” with El Idolo. Apparently, some expected him to return to the company with similar fanfare to the ovation that Cody Rhodes and CM Punk did after their time in AEW.
