Booker T Comments on Potentially Returning To WWE SmackDown Commentary

Booker T said he is open to returning to commentary on WWE SmackDown.

This year on WWE SmackDown Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett worked as commentary team for the show. Currently, Tessitore is covers ESPN College Football during the fall, and Barrett is currently on a planned break.

Due to this, Michael Cole and Corey Graves had stepped in to handle WWE SmackDown commentary. However, WWE had a packed schedule last week which saw with Corey Graves also leading commentary for the WWE-AAA Worlds Collide, joined by John Bradshaw Layfield and Konnan.

This led to WWE NXT commentators Booker T and Vic Joseph filling in for Cole and Graves. Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T, reflected on the experience doing commentary on WWE SmackDown.

“What’s crazy was when I pulled up in Norfolk at the Scope [Arena], you park right up underneath. I pulled in and memories just flooded back to all the times that I had been in that Norfolk Scope back in WCW so many times. So many times making that walk and the fans are always right there to greet you. They’re looking for pictures, autographs, and whatnot. It was just amazing.”

He admitted he had always said he didn’t want to return to main roster commentary, but the experience made him reconsider. “It was amazing being a part of SmackDown, one night only. It was amazing to be a part of the broadcast for one night. Me and Vic, we had so much freaking fun. That two hours went by so fast. I always said I never really want to do the main roster commentary anymore. A lot of people probably don’t want to see me, but I had such a great time, me and Vic on Friday night. Hopefully I get a chance to do it again sometime.” [H/T: WrestlingInc]
