Mark Briscoe has a great reason for not being at Dynamite this week.
Briscoe has been feuding with MJF, who tried to set him on fire last week. (According to MJF, the keyword is tried, because he’s not an arsonist like Hangman Page). Mark Briscoe was not on Dynamite this week, but it wasn’t due to selling any injuries. On a more positive note, Briscoe was home in Delaware to welcome another child into his family, his ninth overall.
Mack Briscoe made his debut on Dynamite with Mark, who said he’s going to set MJF’s dreams on fire. Briscoe then said that he’s tired of hearing MJF say he can’t win the big one, so he’s challenging Kyle Fletcher for the TNT title in Philadelphia. AEW began a seven-event residency at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia on Wednesday night. The promotion will also host ROH Death Before Dishonor on Friday night, followed by Collision on Saturday. The residency runs through September 11.
Mark Briscoe’s word of the day is ‘procreation’
Mark Briscoe and his family are featured in the Two In One: The Briscoe Story documentary from AEW and The Player’s Tribune. Briscoe spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard about the documentary and having his family involved. Briscoe had some fun with his answer while explaining how he and his wife ended up with nine kids, but said he feels very blessed as a father.
“We’re just going along the natural course of how everything goes with a man and a woman. And I guess there are medications or procedures that can be done to slow down the procreation. But, as of now, we got a pretty good pace going,” Briscoe quipped. “Number nine. Who knows, moving forward from there. But yeah, we… There’s never a dull moment. I’ll put it that way.”
During the interview, Briscoe also shared how his “Word of the day” gimmick turned into a running gag in AEW.
