WWE Files For Three Very Weird Trademarks

WWE has filed for some very weird trademarks this week that don’t make a whole lot of sense in 2025.

New WWE trademark filings typically give fans a good idea of what to expect from future programming, such as wrestler name changes, new events, and faction names. However, the company recently filed for three new ones that don’t seem to fall into any of these categories.

On August 14, WWE filed for three new trademarks with the USPTO for Slapjack, WWE Thunderdome, and Ridge Holland.

This is very weird since Slapjack hasn’t worked for the company since 2021, Ridge Holland has been on the roster for years, and his name should have already been trademarked, and the Thunderdome is a concept that hasn’t been utilized since the pandemic.

What they are doing trademarking these names now is anybody’s guess. Perhaps we’ll find out in the weeks ahead.

Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
