WWE Officially Changes Jeff Cobb’s Name

Jeff Cobb made his WWE debut last weekend, and already has a new name with the company.

During tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Cobb Solo Sikoa referred to the superstar as “JC,” without saying his name fully. Cobb was attacked by LA Knight during the segment, as Knight was still mad about Cobb’s involvement at Backlash.

A YouTube video highlighting the action, though, referred to him as JC Mateo. Later in the show, he was brought up again. This time fully as JC Mateo, confirming that to be his new name.

Cobb wrapped up his contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling on April 19. Prior to that, he had been on WWE’s internal roster list for quite some time. Cobb had a lot of fun with this news over the last couple of months regarding his status. However, he then formally made his debut at WWE Backlash.

Cobb’s debut came in the closing minutes of the opening contest for the United States Championship. Solo Sikoa pulled Jacob Fatu off the commentator’s table to prevent LA Knight from jumping on him. When Knight went out to confront Sikoa, he was attacked by Cobb, who came in from ringside.
