Jonathan Coachman Calls Bayley Washed Up And Boring, Asks What She Adds To WWE

Jonathan Coachman doesn’t see what Bayley adds to the WWE roster.

Coachman assessed Bayley’s WWE status on a new episode of his Behind The Turnbuckle podcast. There, he asked what Bayley adds to the WWE roster and speculated that WWE wouldn’t lose much if she wasn’t on the roster anymore.

“Bayley is done, she’s washed up and boring,” Coachman said. “She’s nothing! She’s nothing anymore!”

“I don’t agree with you,” co-host Gabby LaSpisa replied.

“OK, what does she bring to the table? If you dropped Bayley off the roster today, what would we lose?” Coachman said. “No, no, no, I didn’t ask about a lot of people. I asked about Bayley.”

LaSpisa said she can’t speak to create plans for Bayley because she’s not on TV right now. However, when Bayley does get opportunities, it’s only a small taste and there’s a lack of follow-up or room to keep going.

“That’s what happens, then we don’t see her for a while or she’s sitting on the bench. I don’t think she’s someone that isn’t universally loved by the WWE Universe. I don’t know what it is holding her back, but I think a Bayley/Becky Lynch feud is not something to be slept on, considering some of the feuds that we’ve gotten that I could not get behind and don’t make sense.”

Coachman agreed on one point, but doesn’t believe Bayley sold tickets for a feud she’s in

Coachman said his issue with Bayley is that she is like other underwhelming WWE Superstars he’s seen in his tenure. He said Bayley is a great person, but questioned her overall drawing power at the box office.

“That I agree with, and I also agree with the Jeezer, [who says] she’s been boring since day frickin’ one. There are certain Superstars — and when I was in the WWE for 13 years, there’d be certain people, and she’d be one of them, you’re walking backstage going, ‘How in the world is she winning the Royal Rumble?’ or ‘How is he doing that?’ To me, I’ve never — and I think she’s a very sweet person, but there’s a lot of sweet people. I just don’t think she’s ever sold a ticket, like ever sold a ticket for any rivalry that she’s done.”

Coachman also brought up Bayley’s relationship with Mercedes Moné, claiming that despite what some claim, publicizing that friendship will come back and bite her. Another co-host, former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci, said he also loves Bayley and she’s a great person. However, he noted it’s “just not happening for her in the ring” anymore.

Coachman closed the discussion by noting he was surprised Bayley wasn’t part of the recent WWE cuts, cautioning that he was just being honest.
