Toni Storm to face Miyu Yamashita in title eliminator match on AEW Dynamite.
AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm announced the open challenge while walking the red carpet at the TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood. She shared that she’s ready to face anyone bold enough to challenge her for a future title shot.
“This is Timeless Toni Storm coming to you from the TCM Film Festival. Now I could be here threatening Michelle Pfeiffer or on my knees begging for an Emmy. But no, I am the AEW Women’s World Champion and there’s plenty of work to be done. Now there are many bitches with the itches and I love to scratch. So I’ll be having another championship eliminator performance. So if there’s any slot tarts willing to step up to the plate, then tape up your tits and let’s tango.”
After laying out the title eliminator challenge for AEW Dynamite, AEW President Tony Khan revealed on X, formerly Twitter, that Miyu Yamashita had accepted the challenge. The highly anticipated bout will take place at Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
Storm is coming off her win against Queen Aminata on AEW Collision. It will be interesting to see if she can overcome the Japanese star Miyu Yamashita on Dynamite
Saraya praises Toni Storm’s promo skills & character work
Speaking with Rick Ucchino of Sports Illustrated, Saraya mentioned that she believes Toni Storm is one of the best promos and characters of all time.
“She’s one of the best promos and characters, I think, of all time,” Saraya said. “And she’s one of my favorites all together right now. She is making wrestling fun and exciting and I love that. And it’s just funny seeing her from two years ago… when she was scared to pick up a microphone.
“Once you have a character and something that you’re enjoying in wrestling, you wanna put a hundred percent of your mind, body, and soul into it. And she’s doing it. And she’s so humble about it and I love that for her. She’s just like, ‘I hope I’m doing a good job.’ I’m like, ‘Babe, you are smashing it! You are the best thing in wrestling right now.’”
