Tessa Blanchard may be on her way back to TNA, according to a new report.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Tessa Blanchard was believed to have signed with TNA, and she was expected to feud with Jordynne Grace. The program would come ahead of Grace’s expected exit from the company when her deal expires. Meltzer wrote that Grace is expected to leave for WWE, and Blanchard’s signing was said to be confirmed.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful then reported that many talent got word that Tessa Blanchard was signing with TNA this week. Per Sapp, TNA higher-ups and others claimed that they did not know, and Grace had pushed back on working with Blanchard.
In April, a report by PWInsider.com stated that TNA had at least preliminary discussions about bringing Blanchard back. The former IMPACT World Champion was released in June 2020 while she held the title. TNA terminated her contract, reportedly in response to her refusal to drop the title.
As previously reported, Blanchard was accused of using racist language while speaking with La Rosa Negra in Japan several years ago. She said that she had never used a racial slur, and she later wrote that she was tired of being called racist.

Sapp later reported more information, writing that Tessa Blanchard was believed to be returning to TNA sooner rather than later. Per Sapp, talent in AEW, WWE, and TNA were shocked by the news, which was kept away from the entire roster and many staff members due to fear of potential backlash.
The report notes that the plan had been in motion for at least the last two weeks, and “a top person in Anthem” made the decision despite being warned against it. New Anthem President Carlos Silva was not behind the move.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider also reported that Tessa Blanchard was officially returning, and she was set to be part of the Final Resolution pay-per-view and subsequent television tapings.
