AJ Francis Calls TNA World Title Shot The Biggest Opportunity Of His Career

AJ Francis is hyped up for his world title shot.

This Friday, AJ Francis has an opportunity to capture TNA Wrestling‘s biggest prize as he challenges Nic Nemeth for the TNA World Championship at Final Resolution. As he points out, though, the path to get to the title shot was rather winding.

“A year ago, people would have assumed that I would never wrestle again,” Francis told Wrestleholics. “A year ago, people thought that my wrestling career was over a year ago. All I heard was how terrible I am, what a joke I am. That’s all I ever heard even though I can’t control that the only match I ever had were three minutes long. I can’t control that; I can’t control the fact that I never got a chance to cut promos. I didn’t just become a good promo this year; I just started being able to cut them.

“… When I was in WWE, I felt like they wanted me to be a backup offensive lineman,” Francis continued. “I’m on a team, but we don’t really need you. We only need you when we need you. At TNA, I’m a f***ing quarterback in the ring, in the locker room, in the media, everywhere. I prove it each and every week. So I’m glad that the opportunities I’ve been given in TNA. This Friday for the world title against Nic Nemeth, it’s the biggest opportunity of my career bar none.”

According to Francis, Nemeth specially requested to work a singles match with him following their October 2024 tag match. Nemeth and Joe Hendry ultimately emerged victorious over Francis and KC Navarro in that tag bout. At TNA Resolution, however, Francis vows to change the outcome, specifically with him dethroning Nemeth and claiming the first major world title of his in-ring career.
