Stephen Amell: If There Wasn’t A Path To ‘Heels’ Season 3, Netflix Wouldn’t Have Picked It Up

Stephen Amell wants Heels to come back after Netflix move.

The show was canceled after two seasons, leaving the story of Amell’s Jack Spade as unfinished. While they haven’t greenlit a third season, Netflix picked up the show for streaming this year.

The first two seasons of Heels debuted on Netflix in July this year. However, Stephen Amell hopes this increases the chance of a third season of the show.

Stephen Amell recently appeared on Six Feet Under Podcast with The Undertaker and spoke about Heels. He spoke about how the show has been a success on Netflix and would love to be able to come back and end the series in a better way than it did after season two.

“We’ve been very fortunate because sometimes when these things go away, that’s it. But we premiered in the United States on Netflix without any pomp, circumstance, or advertising—just word of mouth. And we’ve seen that word of mouth carry the show.” Stephen Amell said.

“It hasn’t hit a top 10 list or anything, but the numbers have been good and steadily improving. I really don’t want to end the series with me quite literally on my back. I’d also love the opportunity to film without the constraints of all the policies and protocols we had in place due to the pandemic. Those restrictions don’t lend themselves to the most cohesive creativity or production process.”

Stephen Amell On Chances Of A Third Season Of Heels

He continued and was asked about the chances of a third season of Heels.

Stephen Amell revealed that he thinks if Netflix didn’t see a third season as a possibility, then they wouldn’t have picked the show up for streaming this summer.

“I think if there wasn’t a path to a third season, Netflix would have left it and let it collect cobwebs, let the dust gather… gather dust, yeah.”
