Scott D’Amore Wants Maple Leaf Pro To Be ‘The Heart Of Canadian Wrestling’

Scott D’Amore wants to make Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling the heart of Canadian wrestling.

The former TNA boss relaunched the historic promotion back in August and has run two shows so far. They ran two nights of Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Forged In Excellence in October, with rave reviews from fans.

The show featured numerous talents from across the world, including Konosuke Takeshita, Ricochet and Athena. They also had some of the top Canadian wrestlers, with the likes of Mike Bailey and Josh Alexander wrestling at the event.

Scott D’Amore spoke with Justin Barrasso for Undisputed recently about the future of Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling. He said he wants the promotion to be “the heart of Canadian wrestling” in 2025 and wants to become a “force” in professional wrestling.

He also mentioned that he’d love to explore a partnership with WWE in 2025. Scott D’Amore helped set up TNA’s working relationship with NXT and was recently seen at the WWE Performance Center.

“We have a lot of moving pieces right now, and it all leads to an exciting 2025,” said Scott D’Amore. “We are going to be the heart of Canadian wrestling and a force in the global wrestling landscape.”

He added “We are very happy and excited about our existing partners. But we have an open-door policy. If WWE wants to join the party, we’d be open to exploring it.”

Scott D’Amore On Mauro Ranallo: I Think He’s The Best Play-By-Play Man In The History Of The Business

Scott D’Amore has high praise for Mauro Ranallo ahead of his Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling commentary debut this weekend.

He recently spoke with Scott Fishman of TV Insider. When asked how it was getting Mauro Ranallo back in the world of professional wrestling, D’Amore said the process of getting Ranallo back was pretty painless.

“I think Mauro is the best play-by-play man in the history of the business of combat sports,” Scott D’Amore said. “When you look at it pro wrestling, boxing, MMA, kickboxing, Mauro can do it all. He is the most versatile play-by-play guy in history.

“Having him here is fantastic. We’ve worked together for a couple of years. First in Stampede Wrestling where both of us were out of our teens. He was the play-by-play and I came in as a heel to work Sabu on top. That’s the first time I met Mauro, and we’ve been friends ever since. He provides so much passion and so much talent and credibility.
