In-Ring Segment: NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams
Hayes says his battle with Bron Breakker was about respect. He gave that to Breakker and he got caught slipping. It wont happen again. If Breakker thinks raising Hayes’ hand after the match was some sort of passing the torch moment, it wasn’t. Breakker didn’t pass him anything. Hayes took it. Hayes is going to flex his championship privilege and give Breakker a spot in the fatal four-way contenders match later tonight. Dragon Lee interrupts and says he came her to face the best.
He’s going to win the match tonight and Hayes will have to defend against him. Hayes tries to address Lee but JD McDonaugh interrupts. McDonaugh tells Hayes that ego is loud but confidence is quiet. When the bell rings, McDonaugh knows he’s number one. Lee will find that out tonight. Hayes will figure that out at the PLE. Grayson Waller inturupts next and tells Hayes he’s in the match and a real superstar is going to take that title from him. Hayes says he sees a whole lot of thems… but only one him.
