Tay Melo: Going To Japan Has Been A Dream For A Long Time, I’m Waiting For The Opportunity

Tay Melo is interested in going to Japan to train.

Melo signed with WWE in 2016, and she worked for the company until 2020, when she was released in a wave of cuts. She then started competing for AEW in August 202, and she signed with the company he next month. Melo has been a featured member of the roster ever since. Among other highlights, she joined the Jericho Appreciation Society in 2022.

The AEW star recently spoke with Dark Puroresu Flowsion, and in one highlight, she was asked whether she would be interested in going to Japan to train.

“Going to Japan has been a dream for a long time, even before wrestling. I know that I’ll learn a lot and it can change my career for the better. I remember training with Meiko Satomura for a little bit in NXT. I asked her to help me with my kicks and the way she teaches, the way she moves is everything, I just loved it. I had the pleasure to work with Kairi, Io Shirai, and Shida, and man I always learned a lot from them and had so much fun. It’s truly the style I love and feel comfortable [with]. I’m super open to going to Japan, I really want to go. I’m waiting for the opportunity.”

Melo hasn’t wrestled since the January 13 episode of AEW Rampage, where she and Anna Jay lost to Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale in a Street Fight.
