Cody Rhodes recently teased his return to the WWE, but a new report from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp details just how close Rhodes might be to returning.
In a new Fightful Select report, Sapp mentions that Rhodes is “on his way back,” and is currently working to get in-ring clearance to perform again. According to the report, Rhodes is not only preparing for his return, but he’s been doing so at the WWE Performance Center, where he continues to rehab and train. The report goes on to mention that NXT superstars Carmelo Hayes and Joe Gacy have been working with Rhodes, helping him get ready for his highly anticipated return.
Of course, the topic of WrestleMania 39 came up, and the report does mention, to perhaps no one’s surprise, that Rhodes is heavily factored into the plans that WWE has for the big two-night event.
However, it’s unknown exactly what those plans entail, but during a recent appearance at the final WWE RAW showing of 2022, Rhodes said that he has big plans for 2023, and hinted that those plans include the WWE Championship.
