Madison Rayne: Gail Kim Always Pushed Me, She Turned This New Mom Into A Wrestler

Madison Rayne and Gail Kim have cemented themselves as two of the most decorated IMPACT Knockouts of all-time.

Rayne resides as a five-time Knockouts Champion, while Kim reigned with the gold in a record-breaking seven times. Additionally, Rayne and Kim held the Knockouts Tag Team Championships together in a four-month stint. “I have loved Gail from the moment that we met,” Madison Rayne proclaimed in a recent appearance on AEW Unrestricted.

Rayne continued on to praise her time working with Gail Kim, especially after she became a mother. “The Queen Bee” returned to the IMPACT Zone in late 2013, commencing a lengthy feud with Kim.

“When I first came into TNA or IMPACT, she had left for her second run at WWE, so I didn’t meet her until a couple of years into my career and then within a couple of years after that,” Rayne explained. Especially when I came back from having my daughter, I had my first match–so her birthday was just this past weekend, my daughter’s–I had my first match back in December of that year. So, I don’t know, six, eight weeks after I had her. I still don’t know how I did it.”

“But my first feud was with Gail and it was not just like a few wrestling matches. We were having weapons matches and I think it all finally culminated in a cage match, at a Lockdown pay-per-view. So we were really doing it and I think we were able to do that because she’s such a star and such a legend. She took this brand-new mom and recreated her into a wrestler, not just a wrestler, but like a better version of Madison Rayne than I was when I left. She was somebody that always pushed me. I think she did it with several of her opponents, pushed us out of our comfort zone to prove to us what we didn’t know we could do.”

Madison Rayne recently joined All Elite Wrestling as a coach and in-ring performer. Most recently, she wrestled Serena Deeb on the September 9th edition of AEW Rampage.
